Being a member of the Church of Christ, a nondenomination al church, ( not the United Church of Christ ) what would be considered "evangelical" by most, I think your choice of preacher Warren to offer the invocation at your inauguration was well placed. I watched the discussion you and John McCain had with him and thought he did a very good job. I am an independent and I voted for Mc Cain but you won and you are the one we will be looking to for leadership for the future and I, along with all my christian brethren are praying for you.Thank youFinis Brewer 77yrs old, former elder CofC

Twisha, not only are you ignorant, but you are uneducated in the points you choose to make. I would like you to know that not only has there been corruption in Democratic parties, but in Republican parties as well. Imagine that! How obnoxious of you to say that all blacks need welfare and we can not work for what we deserve. I would be very interested to know how much money you are making per year because I am sure that is not as much as me, who is black. My entire family has well paying jobs and live nice homes, and we are not on welfare. If you had not noticed our President-Elect is also black, and worked to pay his way through Harvard Law. Does that look sound like welfare to you? I think not. Also, perhaps you have not been fully understanding the news when you watch it, so I will explain it to you. Officials have already claimed that Obama had no connection to Blagojevich#03 9;s attempt in selling the Senate seat. Since many of you do not seem to be able to grasp the definition of Liberal, I feel inclined to define it for you. Liberal means favoring freedom and choice. Therefore, very far off from Communism, Dave. I do not understand how you can confuse Communism with the most extreme case of Liberalism, but maybe you know the difference now. Would you like the definition of Communism? I would be more than pleased to give you that definition as well. As for you "Twisha", I would like to know if you seriously think that the white race as a majority would honestly take their "guilt" so far as to give power to a man who will be the most powerful leader of the free world, for at least the next four years, solely based on the fact that they feel guilty? You should most likely reconsider that statement. That is what is truely silly, not my comment on the average Obama supporter being a white college student. That is fact, however your guilt remark is not. Also, you should take into account that white students were not alive during slavery and therefore have nothing to feel guilty for. Please come up with something much more intelligent to say, rather than continuing to anger me with your trivial, naive comments. I am sure you do not see yourself as naive, so please do some research or simply think before you decide to post again. While I am in total disagreement over your post, Dave, I do commend how well you stated your opinions and what you thought to be good facts to support your opinion. Twisha, you should also be made aware of the fact that the majority of people on welfare are white, not black. Perhaps, you should not revisit this website, since you are extremely opinionated, yet you have no relevance to much of what you say.

Oh man! Check this out!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!! You lib*rals f*cked yourselves!!! Obama must defend choice of evangelical pastor WASHINGTON – President-elect Barack Obama on Thursday defended his choice of a popular evangelical minister to deliver the invocation at his inauguration, rejecting criticism that it slights gays. The selection of Pastor Rick Warren brought objections from gay rights advocates, who strongly supported Obama during the election campaign. The advocates are angry over Warren#039;s backing of a California ballot initiative banning gay marriage. That measure was approved by voters last month. But Obama told reporters in Chicago that America needs to "come together," even when there#039;s disagreement on social issues. "That dialogue is part of what my campaign is all about," he said.Obama also said he#039;s known to be a "fierce advocate for equality" for gays and lesbians, and will remain so.Warren, a best-selling author and leader of a Southern California megachurch, is one of a new breed of evangelicals who stress the need for action on social issues such as reducing poverty and protecting the environment, alongside traditional theological themes. The Human Rights Campaign, the nation#039;s largest gay rights organization, said Warren#039;s opposition to gay marriage is a sign of intolerance."We feel a deep level of disrespect when one of the architects and promoters of an anti-gay agenda is given the prominence and the pulpit of your historic nomination," the group said in a letter to Obama, asking him to reconsider.Obam a#039;s selection of Warren is seen as a signal to religious conservatives that the president-elect will listen to their views. During the campaign, Warren interviewed Obama and Republican John McCain in a widely watched television program that focused on religious concerns.Gay rights advocates say they are troubled that Obama would give Warren such a visible role at his swearing-in. "By inviting Rick Warren to your inauguration, you have tarnished the view that gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans have a place at your table," the letter said.

You ain#039;t gonna believe this sh*t Dave: Emanuel Pushed Blagojevich to Appoint Obama Loyalists Wednesday, December 17, 2008 12:48 PMBy: David A. Patten Article Font Size Incoming White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel pushed Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich to appoint longtime Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett to fill Barack Obama’s Senate seat, and even gave Blagojevich’s staff a deadline by which an appointment was expected, according to a report in today’s Chicago Sun-Times. Citing sources “with the Obama camp,” the Sun-Times report says Emanuel began to push for Jarrett to fill Obama’s seat “just days” after the Nov. 4 election. That story also cites a source close to Emanuel admitting it is “possible” Emanuel discussed the appointment with Blagojevich chief of staff John Harris, and that a specific date for the appointment was given. The Sun-Times’ revelations suggest that Emanuel was more deeply involved in discussions with Blagojevich and his staff than previously reported, and was more assertive in promoting a specific candidate. Those conversations could have contributed to Blagojevich’s apparent belief that the Senate appointment held great political value. “I’ve got this thing and it’s f**king golden,” Blagojevich told one of his advisers, according to the federal-wiretap transcripts. “I’m not just giving it up for f**king nothing.” On Monday, Obama said that an internal review showed that his aides “did nothing inappropriate” concerning the search for his Senate replacement, but added that at the request of U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald details of the review will not be released until next week. Blagojevich and Harris were arrested Dec. 9 after Fitzgerald released a 76-page criminal complaint alleging they conspired to sell Obama’s vacant Senate seat, and pressured the Chicago Tribune to fire editorial writers who had been critical of Blagojevich. Shortly after the complaint was released, speculation began regarding the possible involvement of Emanuel, who filled the Fifth District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives that Blagojevich vacated in 2002 when he decided to run for governor. Although Obama has generally avoided commenting on the investigation, sources close to Emanuel appear to be preparing the media for further revelations. The Chicago Tribune has cited sources who say Emanuel called Harris’ cell phone on Nov. 1, and presented a list of Senate replacements acceptable to Obama. Jarrett’s name was reportedly on that list. Jarrett initially expressed an interest in serving in the Senate, but withdrew her name after accepting a position as a White House senior adviser. According to the Tribune, Emanuel subsequently spoke with Harris and added another name to the Obama-approved list: Lisa Madigan, the Democratic state attorney general who has taken the lead in trying to push Blagojevich from office since his arrest. Fitzgerald’s criminal complaint states that many conversations recorded by the listening devices have not yet been made public. There have been many reports that conversations involving Emanuel were recorded.OBAMA IS SO F*CKING CORRUPT ITS STAGGARING!!! AND HES NOT OFFICIALLY IN OFFICE YET!!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!Ob ama- change we are going to regret!!!!!!

IT#039;S JUST A MATTER OF TIME WHEN THE REAL OBAMA WILL REAR ITS UGLY HEAD!!! HE IS SO CORRUPT!!!!WASH INGTON (Reuters) – A senior adviser to President-elect Barack Obama defended chief of staff Rahm Emanuel on Wednesday for his contacts with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich#03 9;s office about filling Obama#039;s Senate seat.Blagojevic h has been charged with plotting to sell Obama#039;s Senate seat in a nakedly corrupt act and the Obama presidential transition team has been working to distance Obama and his inner circle from the scandal-tarred governor. But the Chicago Sun-Times reported on Wednesday that Emanuel had privately urged Blagojevich#03 9;s administration to appoint Obama confidant Valerie Jarrett to the Senate seat that Obama vacated when he was elected president November 4.Emanuel had asked the appointment be made by a certain deadline, the newspaper said.Emanuel is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Illinois chosen by Obama to be his White House chief of staff.

It#039;s a Really Bad Day for Obama When . . . Dick Cheney praises his foreign policy team. Can you imagine how the left must feel about now? The more things "change," the more they stay the same.

For all you douchb*gs looking for change- WASHINGTON – Vice President Dick Cheney is calling President-elect Barack Obama#039;s national security lineup "a pretty good team."In a wide-ranging interview with ABC News with 35 days left in the Bush administration, Cheney also again vehemently defended going to war in Iraq, said waterboarding of suspects in the war on terror was justified in some instances and opposed closing the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba."I must say, I think it#039;s a pretty good team," Cheney said of Obama#039;s national security choices, in a segment of the interview broadcast Tuesday on "Good Morning America.""I#03 9;m not close to Barack Obama, obviously, nor do I identify with him politically. He#039;s a liberal. I#039;m a conservative," he said. But the vice president also said he thinks "the idea of keeping (Bob) Gates at defense is excellent. I think (retired Gen.) Jim Jones will be very, very effective as the national security adviser."And Cheney said that while "I would not have hired" Hillary Rodham Clinton to be secretary of state, "I think she#039;s tough. She#039;s smart, she works very hard and she may turn out to be just what President Obama needs."Cheney also urged the incoming administration to "carefully assess the tools put in place to fight terror" and to not cast aside strategies he said worked for the current administration. Of waterboarding, Cheney said it was an appropriate means of getting information from Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind behind the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks on the United States. He said he is against closing the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, saying it can only be shut down responsibly once the war on terrorism has ended.Asked when that might be, he replied, "Well, nobody knows. Nobody can specify that."

Hey Dave... your wasting your time of these c*mmie b*stards... they will never learn.... they want Obama to somehow #039;make things right#039; for them. Total losers are what they are.. unwilling to work for a living and EARN what they have. They rather not work, cry about it, and steal it from those of us who do work. And I think the 13 y/o only wants Obama to have the government play surrogate daddy to him. Courtnei, I think TeresaR is explaining to you the contempt she and the rest of the country has for liberal scum that comes out of Chicago. Obama is just as dirty as Brago. As we say, you lay down with dogs you get up with fleas. I#039;d say Obama is not only flea bitten but is a dog too. And as for your silly note about the average obama supporter is a white college student- that just goes to show how far white guilt will go. Maybe now white guilt 2008 will be satisfied and white people will have the brains and guts to treat blacks like they themselves would like to be treated. As equals and not a group that needs pitty and government welfare all the time.

First let me explain something to you postnicewillu.. ..It#039;s no surprise that I am a registered Republican. However, I consider myself more a "conservative" than a Republican. For me, it#039;s more about principles and values than it is about political party. I don#039;t have a particularly strong allegiance to the Republic Party, whereas I am an avid believer in Conservatism. If a true "Conservative" party were to emerge, I would change my registration in an instant. That said, my reasons for being a "Conservative" are primarily based on what I believe are the differences in the core beliefs of Liberal and Conservative adherents, which are founded on their respective philosophies about human nature, what motivates people, and how to best organize the economic activity of societies.Liber als generally tend to believe it is wrong for people to accumulate wealth or to have income substantially in excess of their individual needs. Their core concept is that, in general, everyone should derive the same or similar benefits from the available resources, which are finite, thus requiring government to be organized as a top down structure of decision-making . This in turn limits individual freedom of choice. They also believe societies work best when they are organized around this principle, with command and control authority concentrated at the top. The most extreme example of this principle is Communism, which attempts to centralize all key production, pricing and distribution decisions about the millions of products and services that are made every day throughout a society. The failure of the USSR within a single century clearly proved that this doesn#039;t work. Unfortunately, true believers don#039;t see it that way, they just think the Soviets didn#039;t do it right. On the other hand, Conservatives generally believe the best way to organize society is to allow maximum decision-making by individuals acting in their own self interest, as they themselves perceive it. The primary difference between the two concepts is found in the degree of personal freedom and government control that each permits or requires. "Conservative" economic philosophy is based on the idea that people are motivated by self interest, while the economic (political) philosophy of Liberals is that individuals are (or should be) motivated by some higher standard. Liberal economic models are based on the principle that the size of the economic pie is static, that those who are highly successful can only succeed at the expense of others, whereas Conservatives believe that the growth of the economy is based on increased productivity, which means the size of the economy is potentially unlimited.Human nature leads people to act in their own self-interest. However, this does not mean self-interest is necessarily defined in economic terms. People also work for rewards other than money: power, position, status, security, even love or altruism. But whatever their individual motivation, it is always self-interest in one form or another. The concept that in America we are all "created equal" is being perverted by Liberalism to mean equality of outcome, that everyone should derive the same or similar benefits from society. But, the world doesn#039;t work that way. No two people are really "equal" in all respects. Some are smarter, better educated, shrewder, better looking, more personable, have more drive or ambition than others, and no form of government can alter that reality. For true "conservatives" and for me personally, the most important core value is having the individual freedom to pursue our own happiness as we define it for ourselves, with a minimum of interference from government.

it is amazing to me that people will publicly post any type of nonsense that comes into their brains. how oblivious can you be to say that a typical obama supporter is ghetto? do you realize that you spelled extremely wrong? that is uneducated, joe. i am 99% sure that you are white, considering you are putting obama supporters and low class, uneduacated, ghetto speaking people all in the same boat, for lack of a better allusion, and therefore you should know that the average obama supporter is a white college student. now who is really uneducated? and to TeresaR, how clever of you to say that you that you will be selling a senate seat. yet, how ironic considering you are not in the political standing to have access to a senate seat yourself nonetheless sell it to others. and to dave, i find it amusing that you asked if i am "def" however i believe you meant to ask if i was "deaf". i personally do not see "def" in the dictionary either, are you speaking some "getto language". for your future reference that is also not how you spell getto. another uneducated, and overly opinionated blogger? how original of you all.

Obama f*cks up again!!Lost in the dramatic disaster unfolding on Wall Street and the brazen hypocrisy of the Hillary Clinton nomination is President-elect Obama#039;s double signal that the war on terror is now over. His appointment of Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano as secretary of Homeland Security signals that the Department will once again focus on southern border immigration issues rather than on fighting terrorism. He could have selected a Rudy Giuliani or a Louis Free or a Ray Kelly — anyone with real life experience in battling terrorists. Instead he chose a governor with no knowledge of the subject whose obvious credential is her proximity to the border. The Department of Homeland Security is a polyglot agency which includes immigration enforcement (the old INS) among its many missions. It is also charged with fighting drugs (the old DEA), and battling terrorism. By appointing someone who knows nothing about terrorism but everything about immigration, Obama has signaled the lack of priority he will give to domestic efforts to keep us safe. Imagine if President George W. Bush had named the governor of Arizona as his Homeland Security director when the post was created in the aftermath of 9/11! The nation would have howled in protest. But now that nobody is focused on terrorism (except the terrorists who still want to strike at us), Obama has felt free to bury the task of battling terrorism in the bureaucracy dedicated to policing the Mexican border. Just as troubling is Obama#039;s appointment of Eric Holder as his attorney general. While criticism of the nomination has focused, justifiably, on Holder#039;s sellout of the public interest by recommending the pardon of fugitive Marc Rich, it is his approval of commutations for the FALN — the Puerto Rican terrorists — that should raise red flags. Before 9/11, when we were not hyper-sensitive to terrorism, Holder did Hillary Clinton#039;s bidding in approving the pardon of those who bombed Fraunces Tavern in New York City, killing four people and injuring 50 others. Facing a run for Senate in New York State, with its sizable Puerto Rican population, Hillary was anxious to deliver a signal of her empathy with the desires of New York#039;s Hispanics. Bill, eager to please, sought Justice Department approval for the commutations. Even though the prisoners themselves had not asked for commutation (two refused to accept it), Holder approved the action and cleared the way for a pre-election gift to New York#039;s Puerto Rican community. If these two appointments presage Obama#039;s approach to the war on terror, we are going to be in deep trouble, indeed. There is not a hawk in the bunch. Add to the mix that this is the first president/secre tary of state combo that has no combined experience in foreign policy since Woodrow Wilson appointed William Jennings Bryan in 1912, and we face real danger. Past presidents with no foreign experience have had the wisdom to appoint secretaries of state with significant experience in international relations. Truman had Byrnes and Gen. Marshall. Johnson had Dean Rusk. Carter had Cyrus Vance. Reagan had Al Haig and George Schultz. Clinton had Warren Christopher and Madeleine Albright. Each reached out to supplement their lack of experience, but not Obama. The appointment of Hillary Clinton does nothing to remedy Obama#039;s inexperience and the appointments of Holder and Napolitano indicate that terrorism in general is a low priority for the upcoming administration.

AA I#039;ll give your boy the same chance you gave mine 8 years ago. I say, impeachment now!!Obama Appointments Reveal His InexperienceIt is still hard to believe but, if Hillary Clinton#039;s "confidantes" are to be trusted, Barack Obama is about to appoint her secretary of state and she is about to accept. This appointment represents the betrayal capstone of Obama#039;s promise to be the "change we can believe in." Having upended the Democratic Party, largely over his different views on foreign policy and the war in Iraq, he now turns to the leader of the ancient regime he ousted, derided, mocked, and criticized to take over the top international-a ffairs position in his administration. No longer, apparently, does he distrust Hillary#039;s "judgment," as he did during the debates when he denounced her vote on the Iraq war resolution. Now, all is forgiven. After everything Obama says he stood for, the only change he apparently truly believes in is a fait accompli. Apart from the breathtaking cynicism of the appointment lies the total lack of foreign-policy experience in the new partnership. Neither Clinton nor Obama has spent five minutes conducting any aspect of foreign policy in the past. Neither has ever negotiated anything or dealt with diplomatic issues. It is the blonde leading the blind. And then there is the question of whether we want a secretary of state who is compromised, in advance, by her husband#039;s dealings with repressive regimes in Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Dubai, the U.A.E., Morocco, and governments about which we know nothing. These foreign leaders have paid the Clinton family millions of dollars — directly and through the Clintons#039; library and/or foundation — funds they can and have used as personal income. How do we know that she can conduct foreign policy independently even if it means biting those who have fed her and her husband? But the most galling aspect of the appointment is that it puts Obama in the midst of an administration that, while he appointed it, is not his own. Rather, he has now created a government staffed by Clinton people, headed by Clinton appointees, and dominated by Hillary herself. He has willingly created the same untenable situation as that into which Lyndon Johnson stepped when JFK was assassinated in 1963. Johnson inherited a Cabinet wholly staffed by Kennedy intimates with Bobby himself as attorney general. LBJ had no choice and had to spend two years making the government his own. But Obama had all the options in the world and chose to fence himself in by appointing Hillary as secretary of state, Clinton Cabinet member Bill Richardson for Commerce, Clinton staffer Rahm Emanuel as his chief of staff, Clinton buddy (and top lobbyist) Tom Daschle to HHS, and Bill#039;s deputy attorney general, Eric Holder, to Justice. Presidents Clinton and Lincoln similarly appointed what Doris Kearns Goodwin has famously called a "team of rivals" to staff their Cabinets and administrations . Lincoln named all of his opponents for the Republican presidential nomination to senior posts in his Cabinet and Clinton staffed his White House and much of his Cabinet with ambassadors to other wings of the Democratic Party. George Stephanopoulos was his ambassador to House Majority Leader Dick Gephardt, Harold Ickes his emissary to organized labor, Al Gore his delegate to the environmentalis ts, Leon Panetta his liaison with congressional committee chairmen, Ron Brown his man in the black community, and Henry Cisneros as his go-between with the Hispanic community. In each case, the president acted to bolster his ties with the factions of his own party because he feared how he would fare with his party in total control of Congress. Neither the Republicans of 1861 nor the Democrats of 1992 saw the president from their own party as their natural leaders. Lincoln#039;s colleagues had chosen him only after a deadlock between the two front-runners had paralyzed the convention. Clinton got the nomination only after Gov. Mario Cuomo of New York, the party#039;s favorite, had pulled out. Each man was elected with barely 40 percent of the vote. So each felt constrained to share power with their rivals. While Obama was not the early favorite of his party, he does not need to defer so ostentatiously to those who fought him for the nomination. His general election mandate clearly entitled him to name who he pleased. But he has chosen to nominate men and women with no loyalty to him and no real stake in his future. And standing above all his appointees like a president-in-ex ile, is Hillary Clinton. If Obama needed any warning about how Hillary will play the game, he need only look at how she handled her appointment. She forced Obama to see her by publicly complaining that she had not heard from him. When he raised the possibility of her appointment to state, she then leaked word that it was in the works. Even the announcement of her appointment was not made by Obama but leaked by Hillary#039;s "confidants." Hillary will be a loose cannon as secretary of state, vindicating her own agenda rather than that of the president and burnishing her own image at every turn. Not since Cordell Hull in the #039;30s have we had a secretary so interested in running for president. Not since William Jennings Bryan in the 1910s have we had a defeated nominee named as secretary. Obama will not be able to control Hillary nor will he be able to control his own administration with Emanuel as chief of staff. He will find that his appointees will march to the beat of their own drummer — if he is lucky — and Hillary#039;s if he is not. Either Obama has chosen to put himself in this untenable situation because he is not wise in the ways of Washington or because he plans to be little more than a figurehead. Given his campaign, neither seems likely. But his promise of change has proven so bankrupt that maybe the rest of his candidacy is too.

Ok you dirty Lib*rals, I#039;m going to make it really easy for you..... Why we will all suffer under Obama and how he will make us all thieves.Evil acts can be given an aura of moral legitimacy by noble-sounding sotic expressions such as spreading the wealth, income redistribution or caring for the less fortunate. Let#039;s think about som. Imagine there#039;s an elderly widow down the street from you. She has neither the strength to mow her lawn nor enough money to hire someone to do it. Here#039;s my question to you that I#039;m almost afraid for the answer: Would you support a government mandate that forces one of your neighbors to mow the lady#039;s lawn each week? If he failed to follow the government orders, would you approve of some kind of punishment ranging from house arrest and fines to imprisonment? I#039;m hoping that the average American would condemn such a government mandate because it would be a form of slavery, the forcible use of one person to serve the purposes of another. Would there be the same condemnation if instead of the government forcing your neighbor to physically mow the widows lawn, the government forced him to give the lady $40 of his weekly earnings? That way the widow could hire someone to mow her lawn. I#039;d say that there is little difference between the mandates. While the mandate#039;s mechanism differs, it is nonetheless the forcible use of one person to serve the purposes of another. Probably most Americans would have a clearer conscience if all the neighbors were forced to put money in a government pot and a government agency would send the widow a weekly sum of $40 to hire someone to mow her lawn. This mechanism makes the particular victim invisible but it still boils down to one person being forcibly used to serve the purposes of another. Putting the money into a government pot makes palatable acts that would otherwise be deemed morally offensive. This is why soci*lism is evil. It employs evil means, coercion or taking the property of one person, to accomplish good ends, helping one#039;s fellow man. Helping one#039;s fellow man in need, by reaching into one#039;s own pockets, is a laudable and praiseworthy goal. Doing the same through coercion and reaching into another#039;s pockets has no redeeming features and is worthy of condemnation. Some people might contend that we are a democracy where the majority agrees to the forcible use of one person for the good of another. But does a majority consensus confer morality to an act that would otherwise be deemed as immoral? In other words, if a majority of the widow#039;s neighbors voted to force one neighbor to mow her law, would that make it moral? I don#039;t believe any moral case can be made for the forcible use of one person to serve the purposes of another. But that conclusion is not nearly as important as the fact that so many of my fellow Americans give wide support to using people. I would like to think it is because they haven#039;t considered that more than $2 trillion of the over $3 trillion federal budget represents Americans using one another. Of course, they might consider it compensatory justice. For example, one American might think, "Farmers get Congress to use me to serve the needs of some farmers. I#039;m going to get Congress to use someone else to serve my needs by subsidizing my child#039;s college education." The bottom line is that we#039;ve become a nation of thieves, a value rejected by our founders. James Madison, the father of our Constitution, was horrified when Congress appropriated $15,000 to help French refugees. He said, "I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents." Tragically, today#039;s Americans would run Madison out of town on a rail.

To my fellow Young Republicans, of whom I#039;ve seen a bit this week, should remember that nothing in politics is permanent. Everything in America, from businesses to families to political parties, is always rising or falling, because America is dynamic, not static, and change is the only constant. There is joy to be had in being out of power. You don#039;t have to defend decisions anymore. You get to criticize with complete abandon. This is the pleasurable side of what the donkey knows, which is that it#039;s easier to knock over the barn than build it.

Obama sucks...his politics, his beliefs....pret ty much everything. He is a sot. Anyone who wants to take money away from a hard working individual and "spread the wealth" to other people in this country who didn#039;t work for that money is a communist. This is the land of opportunity, so go get a job, go to school and make your own damn money. No thanks, I don#039;t want hand outs! Also kiss your medical benefits goodbye..oh excuse me if you have them.....I don#039;t want to socialized my health care. I work hard to pay for my medical benefits because I like to pick the Dr. of MY choice and the health plan of MY choice, and not have the GOVERNMENT pick out what health care plan I#039;m going to use ,and if I don#039;t use the Obama chosen health plan, then I get fined! That#039;s straight up B.S !!!!. And if you don#039;t know what I#039;m talking about, You should look up your now unfortunately chosen president, and go over his plans to ruin our country! The world’s greatest boxing champion, Ali, once said, “Champions must have skill and good will. The good will must be stronger than the skill”. Certainly, Barack Obama possesses both qualities enormously and used them effectively to achieve a long, overdue dream, walk to freedom. Obama said “America change is now or never…, America you have spoken…., this is your time…. and this is your choice…..” and obviously, the choice was manifested on November 4th, 2008 electing him as their president to the White House. The next biggest choice and change would be the name of the White House which is outdated and it was named at the time of white domination and the American people need to carry on with the choice and change by naming it with universal names such as American House, Open House, Lincoln House or Obama House to mark this audacity of historic hope and change in progress. "There is no a black America, and white America and Latino America and Asian America- there#039;s the United States of America," he proclaimed then. The same is true if I say there is no a Black House, and White House and Latino House and Asian House- there is the American House, …..Now, Americans by putting a black person as their leader has now challenged the world to show respect for fellow black people wherever they are.We as a people congratulate Americans for their unity as “one people” and for electing Barack Obama as their president. Congratulations !Watching a black man become president is an inspiration, a reflection that the fabled land of opportunity has opened the doors to people of colour as well, a coup for blacks, the United States and the world.It#039;s very inspiring to know we#039;ve gone from nowhere to somewhere, from nobody to somebody and from slavery to the White House having a black man as president. It will be a great influence on all the people that are racist against blacks. Obama#039;s election is one of the greatest achievements for America and for black people around the world living in obscurity. At last! With role models like Obama and new generations raised in a multicultural mix, we#039;re finally nearing the point where a candidate of colour will no longer be an issue. In good spirits,Time for Change!Congratu lations and thank you, Mr. President!

Twisha, unfortunately you are the one buying into the rhetoric. I don#039;t think you need to understand macroeconomics or finance to have common sense. Those that make more money should pay more taxes. Plain and simple. That#039;s not stealing from anyone nor is it Marxist theory. Unfortunately, I was a child of the Reagan trickle down economy and believe me NOTHING ever trickled down. This nonsense that Republicans have that if they give all the benefits to those in power /rich they will somehow be gracious enough to trickle the benefits down proportionally to the common worker is rubbish. In that terrible economy the rich continued to get richer and the poor continued to get poorer. And the middle class was used, abused, and ignored. I also think it is ignorance on your part (and on the part of the person/people who actually believes it) to even talk about an absurd assumption that Barack would be forgiving any mortgages or credit card debts. That makes absolutely no sense and if people believe it then they deserve to be disappointed. Also, we don#039;t have to look at other countries to see that a plan like his has worked we can look at our own history right here in the US with the Clinton administration. While I will admit Barack#039;s plans a little more liberal the concept is the same. When the middle class thrives the entire country thrives. And frankly, I am proud as heck to live in a generation that understands what this country needs and what it will take to get there.
Twisha :
Posted 54 days ago
Scruffy, you clearly do not have an understanding of macroeconomics and finance. Stealing from the #039;upper class#039; as you and Carl Marx would say is clearly thievery. Just because you cannot make as much as someone else does not give you the right to take it from them. What it does mean is that in this country if you work hard you can have the same thing. Do you really want to live in a country where it doesn’t matter how hard you work you will only have what every one else has? Don#039;t buy into the liberal lie that you need a hand out. There are very ignorant people out there who think obama is going to #039;take care#039; of their mortgages and credit card bills. He won’t. He cannot. His redistribution plan never worked in any other countries and will never work. It has long been relegated to the trash heap of history. It is so unfortunate that another generation cannot or will not learn from history and must experience it first hand…..

Twisha.. you obviously don#039;t watch Obama that much, do you? He#039;s not raping the middle class of our money. He#039;s raping the UPPER class. The ones who make a crapload of money. And Obama isn#039;t a sot. He#039;s not "spreading the wealth around" like McCain says. You listened to the old guy too much, you know that? He#039;s giving tax breaks to the middle class, yes. He#039;s taxing the upper class, and with THEIR increased taxes, he#039;s using that to help fund the programs our children and even ourselves really need right now, thanks to Bush. You seem to like Bush. Well, Bush just got shaved. So get over it. Is there anything else you need to know? You can email me if you like. my personal thought are that obama has the qualifications. he#039;s smart he attended harvard. as the first black men. he#039;s been in a position of responsibility so he is aware of what he is doing. and mccain is irresponsible. he crashed to planes in the military. killed up to 130 men. and has no good educational back ground. mccain rubs in face of the world he was captured when he was in the military.but it was his fault. so it#039;s obama i support not for color but for background. and history has been made..o8

He actually knows what it is like to work his way up instead of being born into wealth and conditioned from childhood to take over the country. I know you haters out there are scared and maybe even just a little ignorant to what goes on in this nation but as Barack said, he will be your President too! What’s with Obama’s choice of old-time Clinton cronies and recycled Washington insiders to run the transition to his new politics of change? Can’t the anti-Washington candidate find anyone who isn’t a Beltway has-been? Judging by the appointments to his transition committee and leaks about possible top staff and Cabinet choices, Obama appears to be practicing the politics of status quo, not the politics of change. Obama based his innovative campaign on an emphatic and convincing commitment to change the culture of Washington and bring in new people, new ideas, and new ways of doing business. But now, Obama has definitely changed his tune. As president-elect , he’s brought back the old Washington hacks, party regulars, and Clinton sycophants that he so frequently disparaged. Like Jimmy Carter, the last President who ran as an outsider, Obama has reached out to the same old folks who dominate the Democratic Party and represent the status quo.His Transition Committee looks like a reunion of the Clinton Administration. No new ideas of how to reform the system there. The Chairman, John Podesta, was Clinton’s Chief of Staff. He presided over the outrageous last minute pardons and his style is strictly inside-the-belt way and make-no-waves.T hen there’s Carol Browner, Clinton’s competent former EPA Administrator who became the consummate Washington insider. She’s Madeline Albright’s partner and recently married mega-lobbyist and former Congressman Tom Downey. During the uproar over Dubai taking over U.S. ports, Browner brought Downey to meet with Senator Chuck Schumer to plead Dubai’s case. Downey was paid half a million dollars to push Dubai’s position. He’s also a lobbyist for Fannie Mae, paid half a million to try to cover their rears on the subprime mortgage mess. Is his change?Federico Pena was Clinton’s Secretary of Transportation and of Energy. The President felt he was unduly soft on Air Florida after their crash and lost confidence in him. Now he’s back as a Transition Committee member.Bill Daley, Clinton’s former Secretary of Commerce and the brother of the Mayor of Chicago, is the epitome of the old Democratic establishment. Clinton appointed him to the Fannie Mae Board and his son worked as a lobbyist for the agency. Aren’t these the kind of folks that Obama ran against?Larry Summers, President of Harvard and former Clinton Secretary of the Treasury is not exactly an outsider either. He’s also alienated more than a few with his bizarre suggestion that women may be genetically inferior to men in math and science.Susan Rice, Assistant Secretary of State under Clinton advised John Kerry and Mike Dukakis. Does that tell you enough?Obama has named one of his big bundlers - Michael Froman, an executive at Citigroup. Is this supposed to symbolize change? Obama’s choice of a spokesperson for the transition is also surprising; hers’ is definitely not the face of reason and new politics. Stephanie Cutter is the brash and combative former Clinton, Kerry, and Ted Kennedy mouthpiece. The liberal DailyKos.com once described Cutter as “a moron to the nth degree” when she tried unsuccessfully to force the New York Times’ Adam Nagourney to treat her unsolicited email criticizing Howard Dean as “background” without mentioning her name.Speaking of brash, Rahm Emmanuel, the new White House Chief of Staff, makes Cutter look timid. Rahm is also a former Clinton White House staffer - and a very obnoxious one. He spent his White House years leaking to the Washington Post whenever he didn’t like what the President was doing. Even Bill Clinton stopped trusting him. Any hopes of Obama keeping his commitment to reach across the aisle would go right out the window with Rahm’s appointment. Instead of extending a hand to the opposition, it would be like raising just one finger. And Rahm’s strident demeanor laced with the ‘f’ word in every sentence will do little to elevate the bipartisan dialogue in Washington.Chri stopher Edley, another member of the transition team, is Dean of the Berkeley Law School. He’s a former member of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission under Clinton and his wife, Maria Echaveste was Clinton’s Deputy Chief of Staff.Transitio n committee staffer Christine Varney was a Federal Trade Commissioner under Clinton and worked in the White House.Throughou t the early debates, Obama criticized Hillary as part of the inside-the beltway establishment that needed to go. But now he’s reaching out to these exact same folks. Some change.

I had the privlege of volunteering with the Obama campaign and it was a beautiful thing to see how people were working tirelessly to make this happen. It was even more beautiful to see the voter turnout, young and old. I think this is a moment that we should just embrace and treasure. Originally I was not the biggest Obama supporter, but regardless of anything negative you can say about him, he has the best, purest intention at heart and I appreciate his diplomacy. With his strong team behind him, he#039;s going to be one of the greatest. Im hoping that he finds a position for McCain and Hillary on his team. Both of them have special talents that they offer and their true Patriotism will be tested if given this opportunity. All I can say is God Bless America!!

I am 22 and I#039;d like to capture my thoughts before America either elects a president who its first 26 presidents could have legally owned, or brazenly subverts the very ideals it was founded upon by manipulating numbers in a final embarrassingly overt goosestep towards corporate totalitarianism .I am nervous. And not night-before-th e-swim-test nervous or even night-you-lose- your-virginity nervous, it#039;s a low rumbling primal panic which I can only liken to Star Wars panic. Disney panic. The edge-of-your-se at-terror that makes you wonder if Skywalker#039; s doomed after he refuses to join Darth Vader and drops down into the abyss, if the wicked octopus or grand vizier or steroid-pumping -village-misogy nist is going to wed/kill/skin the dashing prince and then evil people in dark funny costumes are going to take over the world... if it wasn#039;t a movie of course. And tonight it#039;s not. It#039;s not a movie and yet I feel like Obama might as well be wearing an American flag cape while a decaying McCain, in a high-tech robotic spider wheelchair wearing an eyepatch and stroking an evil cat, gives orders to a sexy scheming Palin who marches back and forth through their sub-terranian campaign lair in four inch thigh-highs and full-body black leather catsuit bossing around the evangelical ants with a loooooong whip... umm... is this just me? Anyway, the point is that things feel weird folks. I have friends who have peed in waterbottles to keep from interrupting a Halo-playing marathon who got off their asses/couches to volunteer for the Obama campaign not once, but many times. Friends so cheap their body content is at least 1/3 Ramen Noodle who donated a good deal of their hard-earned cash to the campaign. People have registered to vote in record numbers, and yet, something just doesn#039;t feel right. I think we should stop congratulating ourselves for just voting. To vote is a privilege which people have died for, and I think there#039;s a whole lot more to be done for the country than to simply help win an election every 4 years.Hundreds of millions of dollars, hundreds of thousands of man-hours spent on both sides by good-intentione d people who want to make a difference in an historic election, so many resources and voices and energies devoted to a single day. After tomorrow, half of that is going to have been a waste. And I can#039;t help but wonder what could have happened if all that muscle had been put towards something else, and what will happen to its momentum after the election has come and gone. Shouldn#039;t we be donating our money to good causes whenever we can? Helping people who don#039;t have? Dedicating some of our time to contribute to making the country which provides for us a better place? Of course a power shift is a hugely significant step on the path to great reform, but worrying about this election has been a wakeup call for me:Even if Obama wins, we have not "won." This isn#039;t a movie and we can#039;t toss every greedy lobbyist oil fatcat bigot down a reactor shaft. I think if we dedicate ourselves to the ongoing welfare of the country as much as we have to the outcome of this election, we#039;ll have a much better shot at coming closer to the overwhelming good the liberals hope Obama will usher in, but which no mere mortal could fully realize alone. Which brings me to the other side. I#039;ve heard a lot of people claim that if McCain wins, they#039;re leaving. I heard the same thing about Bush#039;s reelection, and his unelection before that, and nobody seems to be leaving. And that#039;s fine. Because as much as I complain about certain political happenings, atrocities, etc., I really do like it here and I suspect most other people do too. We have New York and Hollywood, purple mountain#039;s majesty and sea to shining sea, we created jazz and country music and baseball and cars and lightbulbs and computers and that movie with hundreds of animated singing Chihuahuas! I mean who among the shivering Plymouth pilgrims ever imagined ordering hundreds of animated singing chihuahuas onto a magical box from an invisible information superweb? The point being, if things don#039;t turn out the way I want tomorrow, I feel compelled, as a college-graduat ed adultish-type-p erson, to take a stand. And if I#039;m going to leave I#039;m going to leave. But if I#039;m going to stay I#039;m not going to sit around whining like I have for the past 8 years. It#039;s like when I don#039;t clean my room because it#039;s dirty and then I blame the dirt. So in my very indecisive way, before you and your screen, I#039;m declaring my intention to make some kind of stand in the event of -(Ican#039;tev ensayit)-, and encouraging you to consider making one too...Jump the ship or grab a bucket? -Sigh- Wasn#039;t everything so much easier back when the worst possible affront to your values was a PBJ sandwich cut diagonally with crust?Anyways, I guess what I#039;m saying is that if we#039;re going to stay on board, we should probably be generous with our time and resources when times are tough even more than when the hero saves the day. Because what if he doesn#039;t? And what if he can#039;t? "Yes we can" should mean more than just winning an election if we#039;re really committed to change.Best,Han nah Friedmanwww.wri tinghannah.blog spot.com

Some of the posts on here are truly idiotic. some people don#039;t want change, they want minorities and people of different beliefs and faiths to feel inferior but I do not. I am an educated Black Woman who supports Barack. It#039;s fine if you don#039;t support him because you don#039;t feel that he can do the job but to try and degrade him because of his race is ridiculous and stupid. It#039;s just like saying McCain is too old and could croak at any moment so that#039;s why no one should vote for him. I love it how some idiots hide behind their blogs and forums such as these to voice their stuppidity i.e racism when they know just as well as I do they don#039;t have the balls to say it to someone#039;s face because it#039;ll get them a beatdown lol too funny. Get real and get with the times because I think we#039;re about to have our first African-America n president. OBAMA YALL!!!!! LMAO! So put that in your crack pipe and smoke it idiots!!!!

If you have to attack someone to try to get your point across then I guess the way you think isn#039;t correct now is it? McCain got really desperate and started attcking Obama like he was in the third grade. Plus I thought that this is for Obama supporters so why are there other people who are NOT voting for him on here? Just to start crap with others? Guess what? You can say whatever you want but in the end we are all going to vote for whom we want. Oh and to group "everyone" as a one (that is like saying ALL people with no ged or high school diploma are stupid) is just wrong. Let#039;s all "try" to act like the adults that we have become.

what ppl dont understand is that obama(and he did say this) is pro choice, but he doesnt want women to have abortions, he just thinks women should have the option. also he doesnt believe in late term abortions, and he wants to bring the number of abortions
